The "Miners" from Peißenberg are going through hard times: first their coach surprisingly resigned, followed by a less than pleasant performance in Amberg.

Peißenberg

– How would the Peißenberg "Miners" cope with the resignation of coach Christian Kratzmeir?

That was the most exciting question during Pfaffenwinkler's guest appearance in the Bayernliga promotion round on Friday evening at ERSC Amberg.

The answer was extremely unpleasant for the Peissenbergers.

The team around the coaching duo Sepp Staltmayr and Stefan Ihsen got under the wheels with the Upper Palatinate with 1:8 (0:3, 0:1, 1:4).

Peißenberg can only muster 14 field players in Amberg

The "Miners" had an opponent who, after three defeats in a row, was not exactly bursting with self-confidence.

"The game wasn't easy for any of us.

In the end, the result was unfortunately very clear,” reported Ihsen.

Not only the fuss about the surprising withdrawal of the coach, but also the badly thinned squad may have contributed to the fact that the Peissenbergers had no chance.

Only 14 field players were listed on the TSV side in the game report sheet.

"We played well in the meantime and also had our chances.

We're not scoring easy goals at the moment," said Ihsen.

“Miners” get off to a disastrous start and are 3-0 down early on

Instead, the Ambergers, who started with the best line-up, who created a lot of pressure in the initial phase, got it.

“Miners” goalie Korbinian Sertl had to parry three shots on goal in the first minute of this game.

The fourth finally ended up in the box when Michael Kirchberger successfully completed a solo effort to make it 1-0 (2nd).

With a break during a Peißenberger majority game, Brett Mennear made it 2-0 (7th).

A little later, Dominik Pawliczek was another "Miners" player in the penalty box.

The guests survived being outnumbered unscathed, but immediately after the Czech was back on the ice, Kevin Schmitt scored the 3-0 (11th).

"Obviously it was difficult for us to be so far behind so quickly," confessed Ihsen.

Peißenberg with good offensive actions, but without scoring

In the second round, the Peissenbergers got better and better.

They recorded more game shares and also good offensive actions, but none of them brought anything.

Instead, Marco Pronath poked the disc into the goal to make it 4-0 (32') during an ERSC power play.

"By then we had figured something out," reported Ihsen.

In the last minute, the “Miners” scored the consolation goal

When Kirchberger increased to 5:0 at the beginning of the final round (43rd), the game was finally over.

From then on, only damage limitation was on the plan for the Peissenbergers, but even this plan did not succeed.

Another goal from Kirchberger (52') and two goals from the home side by Felix Köbele (54') and four goalscorer Kirchberger (57') increased Amberg's lead to 8:0.

In the final minute, Moritz Birkner was at least granted the Peißenberg consolation goal with a double advantage.

With this clear defeat in Amberg, the negative series of Peißenberger continued in the Bayernliga promotion round.

The Miners lost all seven games.

In the remaining seven games, it's all about saying goodbye to the season in a reasonably decent way.
