The winning streak has broken: SV Werder Bremen can't get past FC Ingolstadt 1-1 (0-0) - but still temporarily takes the lead in the table.

The game report of the DeichStube*.

Bremen – The winning streak has broken.

Werder Bremen

didn't lose against

FC Ingolstadt

either, but had to settle for a 1-1 (0-0) draw against the bottom of the table.

Despite clear field advantages, Bremen did not manage to make their superiority visible on the scoreboard.

Because the guests were the expected unpleasant opponents and even a goal from Niclas Füllkrug was not enough in the end.

This also ended

Ole Werner's

hunt for Otto Rehhagel's age-old record, who had achieved eight wins in a row after making his debut in 1981.

But that hadn't really mattered to him before.

Werder Bremen with two changes in the starting eleven in the "key game" against FC Ingolstadt

The most important news before kick-off:

Marco Friedl

recovered in time from his thigh problems to be in the starting XI.

Since, as expected,

Milos Veljkovic

also returned, Lars Lukas Mai went back to the bench for the time being.

There was also Felix Agu, who was not immediately ordered back to the right side by Ole Werner after his injury break of several weeks - instead

Mitchell Weiser

played there again .

In midfield, Nicolai Rapp was chosen to represent Leonardo Bittencourt, who was suspended.

What had n't

Werder Bremen

's head coach warned about during the week, almost like a prayer wheel of a "key game".

Just before it started, he emphasized again: "We will certainly be challenged mentally." And that's how it happened.

Very quickly even.

The game was less than 40 seconds old when the nerves of the Werder fans were tested for the first time.

A return from Anthony Jung almost starved, but goalkeeper

Jiri Pavlenka

just managed to slide the ball out of the danger zone in front of Ingolstadt's Florian Pick.

Werder Bremen were active against FC Ingolstadt in the first half, but hardly had any chances

As a result, Bremen also found it difficult to get into the encounter.

Because

FC Ingolstadt

was compact as expected and switched quickly, Werder also lacked the pace in the actions at the beginning and the quality of the pass wasn't always the best.

After a quarter of an hour, the home team slowly started to roll.

First a shot by Romano Schmid was blocked, at the following corner FCI keeper

Dejan Stojanovic

and

Ömer Toprak

met , the latter did not put the ball in the goal and also landed rough on the post.

But the defender was able to continue playing (21st).

It wasn't really high-class afterwards either, but

Werder Bremen did

remained active, but a Rapp header wasn't dangerous enough (33').

Meanwhile, the guests continued to pinprick.

When Romano Schmid played a bad counterattack, it quickly went in the opposite direction, where

Filip Bilbija

penetrated into the six-yard box, but then shot it into space from a tight angle (36').

Shortly thereafter, a sharp cross – ultimately without consequences – rushed through the Bremen penalty area.

Even without a real shot on goal,

FC Ingolstadt

proved that they hadn't just come to barricade themselves deep in their own half.

Werder Bremen against FC Ingolstadt: Ömer Toprak and Nicolai Rapp miss the possible lead

Niclas Füllkrug

almost

took advantage of this, but only hit the crossbar with a header after a cross from

Christian Groß

(41').

In return, Bilbija reappeared in front of Pavlenka, but shot wide of the goal on the right.

Immediately before the half-time whistle, Pick also aimed too imprecisely (45+1).

The score remained 0-0 – and

Werder Bremen

went into the dressing room without a lead for the seventh time in a row.

The second round should and had to fix it as so often.

And it only lasted five minutes when Rapp almost succeeded.

After a low Weiser cross, he tried it elegantly with the heel, but the ball was deflected over the goal at the last moment.

Shortly afterwards it was Weiser's turn, but he aimed right at the goalkeeper (54').

Werder Bremen

should have been in the lead after 67 minutes

.

Following an extended corner, Toprak threw the ball over the box with his weaker left foot from five yards.

Three minutes later, Jung made a move from a good position.

Werder Bremen draw against FC Ingolstadt: Werder finds no answer to a late equalizer

The clock was ticking - and after 70 minutes the question could be asked even more intensely than before whether

Werder Bremen

's impressive winning streak should actually tear against Bayern, who was bottom of the table.

But Werder continued to work tirelessly – and was rewarded.

Shortly after Marvin Ducksch shot defender Nico Antonitsch in the head while he was still free,

Niclas Füllkrug

headed the ball into the net after a Jung cross (75').

And

Werder Bremen

wanted more.

First, a shot by Groß was just parried, and Jung's second attempt was deflected by Stojanovic to a corner (83').

Almost 120 seconds later there was the cold shower.

Toprak misjudged a long ball from Ingolstadt,

Filip Bilbija

was there and lobbed the ball over Pavlenka to make it 1-1 (85').

Bremen were still looking for a suitable answer – but couldn't find it against

FC Ingolstadt

.

After all, the temporary lead in the

table

still existed after winning this one point.

3:22 p.m .: Nothing works anymore, the game is over!

SV Werder negligently gave up a 1-0 lead against bottom-placed FC Ingolstadt and separated 1-1.

The team from Bremen and coach Ole Werner are missing out on their eighth win in a row.

Because HSV in the parallel game against SV Sandhausen also did not get more than 1-1, Werder spent the night as table leaders.

Niclas Füllkrug scored the only Werder goal in the 75th minute, Filip Bilbija provided the cold shower late on.

90th + 1:

There is a three-minute lookup!

Corner number twelve for Werder!

Ducksch finishes in the penalty area - over it!

90 min:

Double change at Werder: Nick Woltemade and Felix Agu come for Christian Groß and Mitchell Weiser!

86 min:

Ole Werner reacts and brings Ilia Gruev for Nicolai Rapp.

About five minutes plus stoppage time.

85 minutes: Goal for Ingolstadt!

Is that bitter!

Werder conceded the equalizer out of nowhere.

Bilbija lifts the ball over Pavlenka after a misjudged extension of a Toprak header.

82 min:

Stojanovic huge!

First the FCI keeper saves against Niklas Schmidt, then he fends off a concealed large shot and finally also defuses a beam from Jung!

All within a few seconds.

Hats off!

80 min:

The corner brought nothing.

But the FCI throws a throw-in far in front of the Bremen goal.

Pavlenka sails past Antonitsch's header, Toprak saves on the line in dire need!

78 min:

Next conclusion for Werder – but Ducksch's shot is a shot at most.

On the other side, Heinloth misses, but there is a corner for Ingolstadt.

76 min:

And it went like this: First, after a pass from Schmidt, Ducksch gives away the huge chance in the five.

In a roundabout way, the ball lands with Jung, whose precise cross Füllkrug heaves into the net with his head.

The now overdue Bremen tour!

It is Lücke's 10th goal of the season.

75 min: Tooooooooor for Werder!

Niclas Füllkrug heads the 1-0!

71 min:

The next good chance for Werder!

A cross from the right slips through to the free-standing youngster, who misses the ball and twists it.

69 min:

Werder works out corners seven and eight, but they don't bring anything either.

Meanwhile, Ingolstadt brings in attacker Sulejmani for Schmidt.

67 min:

Toprak!

What a chance!

The corner slips through to the second post, where the Werder captain takes the ball directly and hammers it free-standing over the box.

That should have been the lead!

Werder Bremen against FC Ingolstadt in the live ticker: Bremen operate usury

66 min:

Friedl with two great diagonal balls to Weiser, but he made far too little of it both times.

After all, there is a corner.

65 min:

Now the game is splashing a little.

Best example: Rapp unchallenged crosses into the arms of FCI keeper Stojanovic.

64 min:

Ingolstadt makes a double change – Gebauer and Preißinger come in, Pick and Linsmayer are off work.

62 min:

Werder with 11: 5 shots on goal and 70 percent possession.

But still without a goal.

Here we go!

60 min:

Niklas Schmidt comes on for Romano Schmid.

57 min:

Fire-dangerous conclusion from Heinloth, but it just rushes past.

56 min:

After a Ducksch corner, Weiser finishes from the back, but again no problem for Stojanovic.

54 min:

Good chance for Werder!

Füllkrug lays across to Weiser, whose shot is blocked forward by Stojanovic.

The rebound flies delicately over the goal from Füllkrug's leg.

Pity!

50 min:

Weiser crosses sharply and flatly in front of the goal, Rapp wants to do it artfully with the hoe - but is decisively blocked at the last second.

He probably should have just taken the inside...

47 min:

Rapp is placed on the edge of the penalty area by Musliu – free kick.

Ducksch kicks him sharply in front of the goal, but Ingolstadt can clarify.

46 min:

It continues without a change!

Referee Robert Kampka whistles for the second half!

2:32 p.m .:

The teams return to the lawn, the game will continue here soon!

2:22 p.m .: No goals in the Weser Stadium yet.

Werder and Ingolstadt don't give each other anything in a lively game.

The green-whites are still struggling with the Schanzer's clever defence.

Füllkrug had the best chance for Werder in the 39th minute.

FC Ingolstadt isn't hiding either - on the contrary: Bilbija should have scored twice to take the lead.

It remains exciting, see you soon!

45. + 2 min:

Ducksch with a direct hit!

However, not in the goal, but on the back of referee Kampka.

Shortly afterwards there is a break!

Werder Bremen against FC Ingolstadt in the live ticker: Goalless at halftime

45. +1 min:

Ingolstadt's pick aims too imprecisely from the penalty area - his conclusion hisses just past the box.

45 min:

Ducksch nails a cross into the Weser.

There are two minutes of stoppage time.

43 min:

Ducksch quickly takes a free kick – corner.

Füllkrug comes to the header again, but it ends up in the upper tier.

39 min:

Werder unlucky!

Füllkrug heads a great cross from Groß onto the crossbar.

On the other side, Bilbija Veljkovic rushes again and misses miserably when he is completely free.

36 min:

First yellow card for Ingolstadt – Patrick Schmidt collects it after a foul in midfield.

35 min:

What's going on here now?!

Werder missed a promising counterattack because Schmid completely overslept the moment the Ducksch was played.

In direct return, Ingolstadt's Bilbija missed the huge opportunity to make it 1-0.

The striker held up well against Veljkovic, but then got nervous against the already beaten Pavlenka.

That should have been the lead.

33 min:

Finally a degree in the penalty area!

Young cross, Rapp header, but safe prey for FCI keeper Stojanovic.

31 min:

Nico Antonitsch clears rustically in the penalty area, but within the framework against Nicolai Rapp, who remains on the ground with a pained face.

29 min:

Werder continue to have clear field advantages, but Bremen find it difficult to create chances against the deep opponent.

25 min:

Weiser places his opponent in his own penalty area and is lucky that referee Dr.

Robert Kampka does not decide on a free kick.

Werder Bremen against FC Ingolstadt in the live ticker: Werder is running, but has little chance

23 min:

Ömer Toprak shook himself briefly after his post acquaintance and can continue.

21 min:

The following corner is dangerous, but Toprak doesn't really get behind the ball. Instead, the Werder captain gets a fist from FCI keeper Dejan Stojanovic on his bald head and then rattles his head against the post.

Meanwhile, Schmid stops again from 20 meters - but Stojanovic parries with a fist.

20 min:

Ingolstadt, who barricaded themselves with all players in their own penalty area, with ping pong and the involuntary template for Romano Schmid, who came to a conclusion from the back.

But his shot is blocked!

17 min:

Werder now with some nice ball relays, but it stays the same: nothing is happening in front of the goal.

15 min:

Jung cannot control a sharp allusion from Romano Schmid in the sixteen.

Too bad, there was more in it!

13 min:

Werder is still struggling to let the ball run cleverly.

There are clearly too many turnovers so far.

10 minutes:

Next corner for Ingolstadt, but Christian Groß clears it!

8 min:

Werder has now shaken off the initial shock after the Jung back pass was too short and entrenched themselves in the Schanzer.

So far, however, the green-whites have not come dangerously in front of the goal or at the end.

6. Min:

Roger Assalé and SV Werder - that's a relationship that hasn't worked at all yet.

The Ivorian, who was supposed to be in the squad against FCI, disqualified himself again for being late for the pre-match team briefing.

5. Min:

Now Werder is also active for the first time in the opposing sixteen: Marvin Ducksch puts his fellow striker Niclas Füllkrug in the limelight, but he stumbles when accepting the ball.

Werder Bremen vs. FC Ingolstadt in the live ticker: the game is on!

3. Min:

The following corner also brings danger in the second wave: However, the Ingolstadt attacker is offside when he dangerously finishes!

2nd min:

 Ouch, woah!

That's when everyone's heart sank.

Anthony Jung plays a completely unsuccessful back pass to keeper Jiri Pavlenka.

He has to risk his neck and neck to prevent Florian Pick from falling behind early on!

1. Min:

The game is on, the ball is rolling!

1:28 p.m .:

It’s about to start!

To thunderous applause from the Werder fans, the teams enter the quite chic-looking course in Bremen's Weser Stadium.

Even the sun made an appearance - wonderful!

1:22 p.m .:

Because something has gone down here so far: Roger Assalé is back in the squad today.

Most recently, the Ivorian was not in the Werder squad twice against Rostock and Paderborn.

1:20 p.m .:

The suspended Leonardo Bittencourt also calls on the Sky microphone not to look too far ahead.

Instead, Werder should focus on the FCI: “We have to think about the here and now.

Ingolstadt's task will be difficult enough." Nevertheless, he firmly believes in his team: "If we manage to call up our performance, I'm convinced that we'll win the game today."

1:18 p.m .:

Werder coach Ole Werner demands from his team against Ingolstadt “patience, a good changeover game when the ball is lost and fast passes to get the deep opponent going”.

In the event of a win, the 33-year-old would "maybe have a beer" with his coaching team.

1.15 p.m .:

Werder sports director Frank Baumann speaks in a single player on Sky after his contract extension about the Bremen run: “You can’t rest when things are going well.” Before the duel against bottom FC Ingolstadt, Baumann warns: “It sounds easy, but it is not."

1:10 p.m .:

A little service for everyone who hasn’t noticed yet: FC Schalke presented in the promotion race last night and won 2-0 against SC Paderborn.

S04 are now like Darmstadt on 98 and HSV on 40 points, Werder and St. Pauli have 41 points.

1:04 p.m .:

On the Sky microphone, Dietmar Beiersdorfer, ex-Werder professional and current sports director of FC Ingolstadt, is happy about the return to his old sporting homeland: “I associate Bremen with a great time.

It's a family club that stands for a high degree of continuity and in which I've always felt very comfortable.” Nevertheless, he would love to trip his former club up with the Schanzers.

1:01 p.m .:

15,000 spectators are allowed to watch SV Werder’s home game against FCI in the Wohninvest Weser Stadium.

Guest fans are not allowed.

12:55 p.m .:

With a win, Werder would also climb to the top of the table overnight.

The current leader FC St. Pauli only plays against Hannover 96 on Sunday.

12.50 p.m .:

Even if FC Ingolstadt is still bottom of the table in the 2nd division, the Schanzer have recently improved.

Coach Rüdiger Rehm's team caused a stir with a 5-0 win against 1. FC Nürnberg.

Last weekend there was a 0:0 against SV Sandhausen.

12.47 p.m .:

As mentioned, Werder and coach Ole Werner could have their eighth win in a row today.

With a three against the Schanzer, Werner would match Otto Rehagel's starting record.

But we don't want to jinx it: Against FC Ingolstadt, a stormy, green and white performance must match hurricane Zeynep!

12.43 p.m .:

The only meeting in league two took place in the first half of the season and ended with a smooth 3-0 win for Werder.

The goals in the Audi Sportpark were scored by Nico Antonitsch (own goal), Mitchell Weiser and Marvin Ducksch.

12.38 p.m .:

Let’s look at the history of both teams: So far there have only been five duels between Werder and the Schanzern.

The record speaks for the green-whites: three wins and two defeats.

12.35 p.m .: For

the sake of completeness, we do not want to withhold the starting XI of the guests from you: Stojanovic, Franke, Antonitsch, Eckert Ayensa, Muslu, Heinloth (C), Linsmayer, Pick, Schmidt, Röhl, Bilbija.

Make something out of it!

12:32 p.m .: Sitting

on the bench: Zetterer (ET), Schmidt, Assalé, Mai, Agu, Gruev, Woltemade, Mbom and Dinkci.

12:28 p.m .:

This clarifies the open questions: Ole Werner relies on his proven three or five-man chain against the Schanzer with the exception of Felix Agu (bank).

Milos Veljkovic returns to the starting eleven for Lars Lukas Mai (bench).

Nicolai Rapp gets his chance for the suspended Leonardo Bittencourt.

Werder Bremen against FC Ingolstadt 04 in the live ticker: the line-ups are there

12.25 p.m .: A bit overtime today: the line-ups are there!

Werder starts as follows: Pavlenka - Weiser, Veljkovic, Toprak (C), Friedl, Jung - Rapp, Groß, Schmid - Füllkrug, Ducksch.

12.25 p.m .:

In the Bremen starting eleven there are still one or two question marks, especially on the defensive: Can the recently injured or ailing defenders Marco Friedl, Ömer Toprak, Milos Veljkovic and Felix Agu play against the FCI from the start?

The resolution will follow any moment...

12.21 p.m .:

DeichStube

*.

Werder Bremen gegen den FC Ingolstadt: Was Trainer Ole Werner im „Schlüsselspiel“ sehen will

in the environment is growing, of course, but for us internally the decisive thing is that we concentrate on preparing for every game.” And that’s not all: “It’s no use for us to plan two or three weeks in advance – a lot can happen come up a lot.

We're up against an opponent who wants to keep their last chances and is incredibly good at switching.

We have to be prepared for that, we have to accept that and bring the intensity and duel sharpness to the pitch.” Because only then, exactly then, can things keep going.
