The final table of Winter Olympics medals: France 10th in a ranking dominated by Norway

2022-02-20T08:51:41.613Z

With 14 medals in Beijing, the Blues fail to one unit of their record established in South Korea and Russia during the recent Olympics.

2,900 athletes were present in the running for a medal at the XXIV Olympic Winter Games in history.

109 Olympic titles and as many silver and bronze medals were distributed over a fortnight and as in 2018 in Pyeongchang (South Korea), Norway signed the best harvest of podiums with a total of 37 medals including 16 gold, ahead of Germany (27 including 12 gold) and China (15 medals including 9 gold).

France, she had finished 9th (5 gold medals, 15 in total).

The Blues were not very far from equaling this record since they leave with well-filled suitcases (14 medals, including 5 gold), only one podium from their record.

A satisfactory record, in line with what Claude Onesta, high performance manager at the National Sports Agency, had set as an objective.
