For a few minutes, Greuther Fürth could hope that something would happen with one of the most unlikely victories in recent Bundesliga history.
In the 42nd minute, Branimir Hrgota put the battered bottom of the table ahead at Bayern Munich.
But barely 30 seconds after the restart it became clear: the sensation was missing.
Then Robert Lewandowski equalized for now angry Munich (46th minute).
In the end, the first beat the last 4:1 (0:1).
But it was a long way to get there.
Clear Bayern chances in the first 45 minutes?
There wasn't.
A shot from Corentin Tolisso (3rd), who was later injured and replaced, an attempt by Thomas Müller (45th + 4), the danger posed by the record champions was manageable.
At the same time, the Munich team allowed some potentially dangerous counterattacks and, like the 2-4 win against Bochum and the 1-1 draw against Salzburg, did not appear stable during the week.
The 0:1 then resulted from a standard.
Hrgota shot a free kick from the inside right with his left foot in the direction of the goal, the attempt didn't seem ideally placed, but ended up in the goal.
The reason: Marcel Sabitzer deflected the ball decisively in the Munich Wall, keeper Sven Ulreich, representing the injured Manuel Neuer, had no chance to defend himself (42nd).
Coach Julian Nagelsmann changed Bayern's approach during the break, bringing in Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting as a centre-forward in place of left-back Omar Richards, and his team attacked faster and cleaner than before, especially at the start of the second half.
The result was the fast Lewandowski goal based on a template by Serge Gnabry.
A little later, Sebastian Griesbeck scored an own goal after a sharp cross from Müller (61').
However, anyone who thought that Bayern would tear Fürth apart was wrong.
Fürth hits the post twice
The guests remained an unpleasant opponent for the favorites, even more, they were close to equalizing.
Max Christiansen hit the outside of the post with his long-range shot (67'), and Marco Meyerhofer also failed to hit the post from a tight angle (71').
It lasted until the final phase, when Lewandowski decided the game with his second goal after a corner (82').
Choupo-Moting made the final score in added time (90+1).
In the table, Bayern Munich has extended its lead over Borussia Dortmund to nine points for the time being.
BVB can reduce to six points in the evening with a win over Mönchengladbach.
Fürth remains 18th, the team is nine points short of being relegated.
