Alan Schmitt, who is suspected of attacking French judoka Margo Pino, has been appointed head coach of the Bulgarian association: "We care about family values here"

The Bulgarian Judo Association has announced that coach Alan Schmitt, who is suspected of attacking his judicial partner Margo Pino, has been appointed head coach of the country's women's and men's national teams.

Schmitt was supposed to join and work for Israel's women's team under Shani Hershko, but after he was arrested and questioned, his employment fell through.

He seems to have very quickly found a new job, despite all the reviews that were around him.

As you may recall, Pino posted a tweet to which she attached her photo with her face badly bruised.

"On the night between Saturday and Sunday, I was the victim of an assault in my home by my partners and coaches. I was beaten, punched, my head slammed to the floor several times and finally suffocated," Pino wrote.

Schmitt denied and the court released him because not enough evidence was presented against him.

On the night of Saturday to Sunday, I was the victim of an aggression at my home by my partner and trainer.

I was insulted, stabbed to death by poings, but I was struck by the sun several

times.

And finally strangled.

Schmitt referred to the appointment in a special interview on the Bulgarian Judo Association website: "I was a little lucky," the coach said of the appointment, "I met the right people at the right time. This is my first time in Bulgaria, I love it very much. "I have no impressions from your country yet, but I really like the people here - they are very real, they care about family values as well as the communication between them. And I really like it. I am happy and proud to represent a new nation."

When asked about having worked more with women in the past and less with men, the answer might be a little uncomfortable.

"Women ask fewer questions, trust between a coach and an athlete is very important and when they believe you, they run forward. Men ask more questions, have a hard time trusting, and that's the more significant difference."
