The police unit for the prevention of violence in sports, which was established in 2016 and closed in 2020 due to budgeting problems on the part of the Ministry of Sports, is expected to resume its activities in the near future.
From the discussion this morning (Monday) in the Internal Security Committee in the Knesset, chaired by the committee's MK MK Meirav Ben-Ari, it appears that co-financing has been found by the government ministries - Sports and Internal Security, in order to reactivate the police unit as soon as possible. Which has to do with the enforcement and prevention of the police against violence on the sports fields.

At this stage it is estimated that the unit in question will return to full activity "within a few months", but it is possible that in the first stage it will return to activity gradually.
