Two coached on the sidelines, one was at home with the fever: for the three new Hallbergmoos coaches it was a special match day in many ways.

Hallbergmoos

– Everything turned out a little differently than planned.

But in the moments of great happiness, the three coaches of VfB Hallbergmoos were reunited.

Alban Zinsou, who followed the game from the quarantine on the Internet, was joined by his coaching colleagues Matthias Strohmaier and Florian Brachtel after the sensational 1-0 win over table leaders SpVgg Hankofen-Hailing via video call.

It was an unforgettable first Bayernliga match day for the three VfB newcomers.

Strohmaier: "We had eleven men on the pitch, tearing themselves apart."

"Of course we can still improve a lot," said head coach Matthias Strohmaier after the game.

"But we had eleven men on the field who were tearing themselves apart." The reward for this commitment was the victory, which was hardly thought possible.

Strohmaier was pretty hoarse after his nerve-wracking point game premiere at VfB, which is why the question of how he experienced the game was almost superfluous.

In view of the not easy space conditions, it was clear to him "that the one who scores the first goal will probably win".

Strohmaier was constantly on the go in his coaching zone, constantly communicating.

And again and again he turned to his assistant coach Florian Brachtel, who was sitting on the bench.

Among other things, substitutions were discussed, one exchanged which kickers look tired.

"I also mentioned little things that we should address in training - Florian wrote everything down right away," says Strohmaier, outlining the cooperation.

Brachtel himself stated after the game that there was agreement on many points.

He took home with him that he was exactly right in the video preparation for the opponent: "They played as we expected." However, the analysis was also very clear, especially with Hankofen.

Just a bit like Steffen Baumgart

The third in the group sat at home after the corona free test failed and the quarantine therefore only ended on Monday.

After the sensational video circulating on the Internet, which shows Cologne coach Steffen Baumgart escalating while watching quarantine football, the question naturally arose as to whether Alban Zinsou accidentally sat on a dog and was filmed.

"I don't even have a dog and I know exactly where the cameras are at home," joked the always cheerful assistant coach.

"And in general, I'm rather calm when watching football."

However, Zinsou admitted "that in the last five minutes I was screaming quite a bit at home too".

And with the winning goal, he remembered a quarantine conversation.

"I said to him: Kosti, you're going to put one in on Saturday." Andreas Kostorz put it in, sinking the free-kick from a good 20 meters to make it 1-0.

For this perfect forecast, there was an immediate live switch to the stadium: Florian Brachtel called him immediately after the final whistle, then it was off to the dressing room so that Zinsou could also celebrate with the players.

He was very proud of the call during the moments of great emotion.

A sign that the team's three coaches exemplify teamwork.

Zinsou: "The quarantine feels a bit like prison."

The quarantine for the assistant coach ended on Monday.

"My whole family had tested negative in the past few days," says Zinsou.

"Just not me.

The quarantine feels a bit like prison.” This week he can train again.

And for the home game against Gundelfingen next Saturday, all three coaches are in the stadium.

If nothing else comes between.
