The tournament is considered a test run before the European Football Championship in summer - and Germany was the last to complete it. Lina Magull scored a remarkable goal against England, but that wasn't enough.

The DFB women finished last in the Arnold Clark Cup in England.

The selection of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg lost in the last game of the four-nation tournament against hosts England 1: 3 (1: 1).

Lina Magull (41st minute) scored for the young German team in Wolverhampton, the English record goalscorer Ellen White (15th), Millie Bright (84th) and Fran Kirby (90th + 3) scored for England.

In the end, the English won ahead of Spain, who had previously beaten Olympic champions Canada 1-0 (1-0).

The Arnold Clark Cup is considered an important location determination in the EM year.

The EM will be held in England from July 6th to 31st.

“It could have turned out differently”

"We're already disappointed because the result didn't match the course of the game.

It could have ended differently,' said Magull.

The English women were "a bit more ripped off", that was "annoying, but the tournament shows us what we have to work on, that we still have a lot of potential".

Magull equalized with a free kick worth seeing in front of around 13,500 spectators.

The ball hit the underside of the bar and from there bounced into the net unstoppable for goalkeeper Ellen Roebuck.

That free-kick goal was one of two goals that the DFB women scored in the tournament.

Before the 3-1 draw with England, the Voss Tecklenburg team had drawn 1-1 against Spain and lost 1-0 against Canada.
