The International Olympic Committee bans Russia and its Belarusian ally from world sport by asking all INTERN federations

The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Friday urged all international sports federations to cancel or relocate any event planned in Russia or Belarus, following the invasion of Ukraine by Moscow.

And this until further notice.

The Executive Committee of the Olympic body also requests that the flag of Russia and its Belarusian ally not be hoisted at any international sporting event.

The IOC still requires that the national anthems of these two countries not be played.

The International Olympic Committee believes that these two countries have violated the Olympic truce.

The measure is strong and exceptional and Moscow has not yet reacted to this announcement.

Since the start of the Russian attack on Ukraine, several federations, leagues and sports have not waited for the IOC's recommendations to take action.

The Euroleague, which manages the biggest competition in European basketball, decided on Friday not to play any more matches in Russia while three clubs (CSKA Moscow, Kazan and Saint Petersburg) are playing the tournament.*

The Champions League final relocated to the Stade de France

Matches against these teams scheduled on Russian territory must be played on neutral ground.

In the morning, UEFA relocated the Champions League final from Saint Petersburg to the Stade de France on May 28 and the Russian F1 Grand Prix scheduled for Sochi on September 25 has already been canceled.

The International Ski Federation has also canceled all competitions scheduled in Russia by the end of the season.
