The debate about the jersey sponsor Gazprom has kept FC Schalke 04 most busy in the past few days.

In terms of sport, it was Saturday's match against Karlsruher SC – in the end, Schalke couldn't get past a 1-1 draw.

FC St. Pauli, who celebrated an important away win, did better.

1. FC Nürnberg in Rostock did the same.

In traditional jerseys without the name of their Russian main sponsor Gazprom, second division soccer team Schalke 04 has had a damper on its hopes of promotion.

The Royal Blues did not get more than 1: 1 (1: 1) at Karlsruher SC after the turbulence surrounding their controversial financier and have to worry about their place in the top group.

After the draw, KSC is still in no man's land in the table.

Record goalscorer Simon Terodde (27th minute) made sure the visitors were lucky after a corner kick with his 16th goal of the season in front of 15,000 spectators in the sold-out Wildpark Stadium.

Just seven minutes later, South Korea's Kyoung-Rok Choi brought Baden back into the game.

FC St. Pauli made amends for the 0:3 defeat against Hannover 96 and at least temporarily climbed to the top of the table.

Hamburg won 3-1 (2-1) at bottom FC Ingolstadt.

Darmstadt 98 and Werder Bremen could, however, overtake the Sankt Paulians again if they are successful.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh (22nd) scored the opener for the Millerntor team with a wonderful free kick.

Dennis Eckert Ayensa (35') equalized for FCI, but Guido Burgstaller (37') with his 17th goal of the season put the guests back in front almost immediately.

Simon Makienok (55th) made everything clear for Hamburg.

In the 61st minute Makienok was unlucky with a header against the post.

With their second win in a row, 1. FC Nürnberg has come closer to the promotion places.

The club won 2-0 (1-0) against ex-Bundesliga club Hansa Rostock, who were threatened with relegation.

Pascal Köpke (34th) headed the opening goal for the Franks after Rostock's keeper Markus Kolke had parried a penalty kick from Taylan Duman.

Köpke carried the rebound over the line.

Nils Fröling caused the penalty by fouling Duman.

However, Duman was more accurate in the second half and increased to 2:0 (63rd).

The FCN now has 39 points and is sixth in the table.

The North Germans, on the other hand, are tied with SV Sandhausen with 25 points, just ahead of relegation rank 16.
