The two racing aces of FC Lengdorf win the district championship on a demanding slope.

The Auerbach ski club shines as an organizer.

– One in five has been eliminated.

The alpine district championship, which SC Auerbach is hosting in Kössen, was a demanding affair.

105 participants from seven district associations took part.

SCA trainer Johannes Denteler set the giant slalom course on the hotel slope, which had to be mastered in two runs.

The problem: The weather didn't play along the day before, the temperatures were consistently in the plus range overnight, and it also rained a little.

As a result, the piste softened a lot and it was only halfway through the first run that a hard piste developed, as the soft snow was then completely gone.

Before the second run, Denteler partially adjusted the course.

Here, too, all runners had the same, but not easy, conditions.

It was always exciting.

It was very close in many age groups.

Those responsible spoke of "very good alpine racing".

The fact that almost 20 percent of the racers were disqualified was due to the training deficits caused by the pandemic.

By the way, the fastest are old acquaintances.

The siblings Maxi and Franziska Widl won the district championship title.

Maja Weber (FC Lengdorf), Jaden Koschkar (SC Buch am Buchrain), Hannah Linsmayer and Timo Neff (FC Lengdorf) were victorious in their age groups.

They were delighted to receive large trophies donated by patron District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer.

SCA chairman Claudia Joos took over the award ceremony together with trainer Denteler, Thomas Furner and Ralf Schmidmüller, who was also in charge of the race.

The timing was in the experienced hands of Petr Masek.

The piste crew and all other helpers from the district associations did a good job together to create reasonably fair conditions for everyone and did their part to ensure that there were no significant injuries during the rapid runs.
