Novak Djokovic, who until recently was ranked number one in the world, today (Monday) offered financial support and any other assistance needed to former world-ranked Ukrainian Sergei Stakhovsky, who enlisted in his country's army following Russia's invasion of its neighbor.
Stachowski, who won four ATP titles and ousted Roger Federer from Wimbledon in 2013, has no previous military experience, but he feels committed to helping defend his country, and even posted a photo in the last day with all the military equipment he received.

The 36-year-old former tennis player posted a screenshot on Instagram of his conversation with Djokovic via WhatsApp, in which the world number two asked about his condition and hoped things would calm down.
"Please let me know what the best address would be to send help ... financial help, any other help as well," Djokovic wrote in a message to Stakhovsky, who posted on Instagram that Ukraine was grateful for the Serb's offer of support.
