Successful in this scene, ultimately in vain: Goalie Daniel Allavena and the SCR are vehemently fighting the playoffs.

But Hanover is just too efficient.

It shouldn't be: SC Riessersee ultimately has no chance against brutally efficient Scorpions from Hanover.

Hanover is in the playoff quarterfinals, the summer break has begun for the SCR.

feet –

He runs up and down, he jumps, he cheers, he clasps his hands in front of his face, he waves his hand, he protests, he encourages.

In every ice hockey game there is at least one protagonist who is not on the ice, but who is a good indicator of what is happening on the field.

At SC Riessersee, this is best possible with the help of managing director Pana Christakakis.

The view of the ice is unnecessary.

The back and forth on the field reflected his gestures and facial expressions exactly.

And at the end of the fourth game of the playoff round of 16 series against the Hannover Scorpions, Christakakis stood still, petrified, stoically folded his arms, his eyes blank.

Because the SCR is out, Hannover is in the quarterfinals, for the white-blue the summer break started with the final whistle.

Finally, there was a 3:6 defeat in the federal base in Füssen.

Strong first third with a bitter end

For the first time, the managing director's tension had relaxed after 17 minutes in a positive way.

Captain Florian Vollmer, for whom it was probably the last game of his long career, found Aziz Ehliz outnumbered.

The lead that is so important for the hosts and the reward for a courageous first third.

The SCR showed exactly the attributes that are needed if you still want to shoot a series.

Committed, strong in duels, fast.

The Scorpions had little to do in the first 19:36 minutes.

And yet a dangerous attack was enough for them to make it 1-1 – including Daniel Allavena's support.

The Riessersee goalie intercepted a cross pass in front of his box, but unluckily put it into him himself.

At the worst psychological time.

Christakakis shifted back to the stoic stance.

SCR presses, Hanover meets

In third two his muscles twitched steadily, because his own surrounded the Scorpions for minutes, creating chance after chance.

But: counter Hannover, 2: 1 for the guests.

A short time later, Christakakis exploded briefly, Simon Mayr equalized.

The Riessersee supporters celebrated this goal loudly, but the cheers stuck in their throats for only 33 seconds – 3:2 for Hanover.

The next psychological blow.

And he sat.

The pace was gone, the duel rate dropped.

Now the white-blue were usually a step too late than a step faster.

So did Christoph Eckl in minute 37. The consequence: penalty time.

In this majority, the Scorpions once again presented what ultimately made the difference in this playoff series: brutal efficiency.

First attack in the power play, it was already 4:2 from the guest's point of view.

Christakakis was looking for his space again, in the meantime Christian Winkler from the cooperation partner EHC Red Bull Munich had joined him.

The hoped-for trip to Hanover on Sunday was becoming more and more distant, and the decision was getting closer.

It followed at the beginning of the final third at the latest.

The SCR wanted again, the Scorpions put it into action.

First attack in section - 2:5.

Riessersee does not give up

After that, Riessersee's heads hung low for a short time, but they didn't give up, continued to play, sought their salvation on the offensive, and chased after the last glimmer of hope.

But Hannover presented themselves too clever in positional play, too cold in front of goal, too ripped off.

So they hit the empty goal to 2:6.

The last goal of the game belonged to the White-Blues in the person of Mayr.

Strong fans of the white-blue

In the end, the more efficient team deservedly prevailed and entered the quarter-finals.

But the SCR did not disappoint, and the fans who traveled with us saw it that way too.

Accordingly, there was no embarrassed silence after the final siren, but it got loud again.

And christakakis?

A small smile flitted across his face in view of these strong fans.
