Despite all adversity, SV Raisting holds its own in the top group of the district league south.

Coach Johannes Franz is surprised himself.

Now it's against Unterpfaffenhofen.

Raisting - That there is a ground station in Raisting is well known.

On the other hand, one looks in vain for an obstacle course there.

The kickers from the local sports club meet the mental requirements that are needed to survive on such a facility.

Bad tongues say that they have the mentality of a good horse: they only jump as high as they have to.

Of course, that's not entirely fair, as even Johannes Franz admits.

"We have to fight for every centimeter of grass," the player-coach prefers to talk about his kickers' particular strength of will.

However, he cannot completely hide the fact that there has been a noticeable change in his squad since the preparations.

"The team convinces and surprises me again and again when something is at stake in the competition."

SV Raisting "keeps surprising me again and again"

The complaints about the sluggish preparation have not yet died away completely.

Raistinger struggled through February and even conceded a 0:6 swatter in Murnau.

Even if the coach had to swallow a little himself, he was able to explain this dropout.

"Preparation is about nothing," he said.

"You can't blame the players if they're missing one or two percent." It was (almost) always like that in Raisting and it probably won't change.

In addition to well-intentioned apologies, there were also solid reasons why the Raistingers would rather take one step less than one too many.

Franz had always instructed them to "always be 90 minutes ahead", which eventually led to signs of fatigue.

Since he also attached great importance to his kickers playing a well-groomed ball, they made more mistakes and thus conceded more goals.

"If you don't do something like that in preparation, then when?" asked the coach.

Since the season has continued in the district league south, the Raistingers have been playing less filigree again, but all the more down-to-earth and stable.

The big title favorite SC Oberweikertshofen could be happy that he just saved a draw against SVR.

SV Aubing was due a week later for this.

Raisting won 1-0 and consolidated his fourth place in the table.

"We have to work hard for the number of points," Franz clarifies.

The first four points didn't fall from the sky.

With the start of the spring round, all those virtues that the coach really appreciates returned to his eleven: dedication, attitude, commitment.

That is not surprising for him.

"We have many competitive types in the team." Since the winter break, there have even been two more.

The experiences of the newcomers Florian Breitenmoser and Maximilian König are paying off positively for the whole team.

She also benefits from her training camp in Croatia, which brought the footballers together.

"We spent a lot of time together there," enthuses Franz, like his players, from a formative community experience.

SV Raisting meets Unterpfaffenhofen away

The spirit in the team is now so solid that even the tense personnel situation has been coped with without consequences.

First, three players were missing because they were infected with the corona virus, and Timmy Greif broke his wrist against Oberweikertshofen, while Franz suffered a bruised foot in the same game.

And then, with Andreas Heichele, one of the top performers from last fall is still missing after he tore his meniscus in the first friendly.

But somehow these seem to be the obstacles that the Raistingers feel so challenged to jump really high.

And so Franz goes into the game at SC Unterpfaffenhofen on Saturday (3 p.m.) with some optimism.

"I make no secret of the fact that three points are our goal." This goal is much easier to determine than the strong form of his eleven after a mixed preparation.

"I have to admit that I too had my doubts about whether we could get into the mode," he admits.
