Borussia Dortmund lost the top game of the 28th match day in their own stadium.

Second in the table BVB lost 1: 4 (0: 2) to fourth RB Leipzig.

Konrad Laimer was involved in three Leipzig goals.

In the first half he scored twice (21st minute/30th), he prepared the third goal by Christopher Nkunku (58th).

Dani Olmo (86th) scored the fourth RB goal, Donyell Malen (84th) was successful for BVB.

In addition to the pitch, the focus was also on the setting: the Dortmund Arena was sold out for the first time in 763 days, with BVB reporting 81,365 fans.

According to managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke, Dortmund lost a total of 120 million euros in the corona pandemic.

“We've waited two years for this.

It's also not the case that we take it for granted that after such a long time the stadium will be sold out immediately," said Sebastian Kehl, who will succeed sports director Michael Zorc in the summer.

Laimer hits twice and hangs up

However, the BVB viewers could not be satisfied with what their team did in terms of sport.

Coach Marco Rose's team was already 0:2 behind after 30 minutes.

First Laimer had beaten BVB keeper Gregor Kobel with a nice lob, then his shot was deflected by Emre Can.

French international Christopher Nkunku prepared both goals.

And the attacker could also celebrate a goal of his own, this time prepared by Laimer, who hung up the heel for Nkunku – 3-0.

Should that have been it?

Not quite yet.

Following a corner kick, Can put on for Malen in the 84th minute, who headed Dortmund's only goal.

Two minutes later, Leipzig's Olmo scored the final score after submitting Nkunku.

BVB is now nine points behind leaders FC Bayern.
