It can be announced almost definitively - Maccabi Tel Aviv has finally given up on the championship fight.
Mladen Krestajic's team had to beat Maccabi Netanya to leave itself with any chance of stressing Maccabi Haifa and BS, but only by luck did it draw 1-1, and in the second it can see the gap from first place grow to 10 points.
From the opening whistle, Netanya pressed high and did not let the visitors breathe, but Maccabi Tel Aviv managed to get on the scoreboard from a goal with a free kick by Avi Rikan. All those 45 minutes and only the crossbar, after a Boris Jano missile, prevented her from equalizing the result rightly.
Then came the second half.
A half in which there was only one team on the field.
Bnei Lem's Maccabi Netanya, who was sent off, simply danced on the lawn with great crosses, played with a touch, a fantastic rhythm, and managed to equalize Aviv Avraham's spies, after Chen Ezra's cooking.
Diamonds had enough situations to decide the game, including a huge ball from Chen Ezra who squeezed a save from Daniel Peretz's films, but the last controls for the Netanya players no longer had air to breathe and they settled for a point.
If Netanya plays like this throughout the top playoffs, it seems to have the best chance of finishing in fourth place.
