Is Bayern threatened with an aftermath after Freiburg's mistake?

The DFB statutes are clear, the experts disagree.

Freiburg/Munich - It was probably the strangest scene of Bayern's victory in Freiburg: Kingsley Coman was substituted in the 86th minute, and Marcel Sabitzer was to replace him for the last few minutes.

Niklas Süle also came for Corentin Tolisso.

Nothing unusual in itself - but Coman hadn't realized that he had to go out.

FC Bayern played 12 players for 17 seconds until the misunderstanding was cleared up after minutes of discussion about referee Christian Dingert.

The game (live ticker to read) was continued with a referee ball.

Sky referee expert Alexander Feuerherdt from "Collinas Erben" spoke about possible consequences after the game.

But Bayern don't have to fear losing a point.

Feuerherdt: "I can't imagine that.

Did something happen in the 20 seconds that would have had an impact?

It wasn't like that.

If a goal had been scored, it would have been different.

There must have been some discrepancy in the referee team.”

FC Bayern wins in Freiburg: "Sabitzer was on the field, although Coman hasn't gone down yet"

Feuerherdt continued: "Sabitzer was on the field, although Coman hasn't gone down yet.

One could discuss whether someone would then get a yellow card (votes on the game).”

Sky

expert Didi Hamann contradicted him: "I see it differently.

It doesn't matter how long Bayern was twelve.

In fact, this is a violation of the rules.

I don't know why someone goes up there without someone going down.

But what should the referee have done?

The sports court has to regulate the rest.

It is a breach of the rules that the sports court must punish - in whatever way."

What do the statutes say?

According to paragraph 17 paragraph 4 of the legal and procedural rules of the German Football Association (DFB), the error could have consequences for the rating of the game.

"If a player was not eligible to play or field a game in a game, the team that culpably fielded that player lost the game 2-0 and the opponent won 2-0, unless that The game had not yet been continued by the referee after the player who was not eligible to play or used the game," it said.

Does Freiburg protest?

Theoretically, FC Bayern is threatened with an aftermath

A prerequisite for losing a point would be a protest by Freiburg.

"We drew the referee's attention to the fact that Bayern has eleven field players on the field," said Freiburg's sports director Jochen Saier on Sky: "That was bizarre, I've never seen it like that.

He could not judge the consequences.

Now we all need to calm down and think about it for a bit.”

It wouldn't be the first time a club has been penalized for making a substitution, even this season.

Ex-VfL Wolfsburg coach Mark van Bommel had substituted six instead of five times in the second round of the cup at Preussen Münster.

The wolves were then excluded from the DFB Cup.

There were also mistakes of this kind in the Bundesliga - but mostly they had to do with contract amateurs or foreign players.
