The 18-year-old Carlos Alkras, who is ranked 16th in the world, tonight (Sunday) won the Miami tournament of the Masters round 1,000 after defeating the Norwegian Caspar Rod (8) 5: 7, 4: 6.
The Spaniard improved his balance in 2022 to 2:18 and recorded another milestone in what appears to be a tremendous career development.

The 18-year-old Alcras has become the youngest tennis player to win a Miami tournament in 37 years of the tournament.
Djokovic won the Miami tournament when he was 19 and 10 months old and Alkras was then three years old.
It was the first 1,000 Masters tournament in the Serbian's career.
Alkras is the third youngest tennis player in history to win a Masters tournament (283 such tournaments took place) after Michael Chang and Rafael Nadal.
Alcras is the first Spaniard ever to win a Miami tournament after the Spaniards have lost eight finals in the past.
Nadal, by the way, has lost five times in the Miami Finals, Sergei Burgera once, Carlos Moya and David Ferrer once each.
In addition, Alcras is the fifth tennis player out of the top 10 in the world to win the Miami tournament after John Eisner (17), Jim Courier (18), Hubert Horkach (37) and Tim Mayuta (45).
