An indictment was filed today (Tuesday) in the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court against Ben Bitton (23) from Beit Dagan and a 17-year-old minor after they attacked and injured a fan of the Betar Jerusalem football team because they thought he had set fire to a Maccabi Tel Aviv scarf.

Bitton was charged with aggravated assault and dismissal in the investigation, after he also asked the driver of the vehicle to delete a recording of a conversation held in the vehicle and even asked her to refrain from cooperating with the police.
The minor was charged with aggravated assault.
The indictments filed indicate that at the beginning of March, a football match was held between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Betar Jerusalem at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv.
While he was waiting, a man was standing next to him, lighting a scarf bearing the Maccabi Tel Aviv team logo.
At the same time, a car with fans of the Maccabi Tel Aviv team left the stadium.

When the occupants of the vehicle noticed the burning scarf, stopped the vehicle, the defendants got out of it and started attacking the complainant.
They pushed him, kicked him and the minor defendant even stabbed him in the head.
Then, get back in the car and drive away.
Simultaneously with the indictment, motions were submitted to extend the detention of the defendants until the end of the proceedings against them, in the motion for detention filed against Bitton, Advocate Tal noted:
The respondent did so while his friend stabbed the complainant. "
The indictment attributes to Bitton the offenses of aggravated assault and dismissal in the investigation, after he also asked the driver of the vehicle to delete a recording of a conversation held in the vehicle and even asked her to refrain from cooperating with the police.
The minor was charged with aggravated assault.
