Following the round of World Cup competitions held in the last two months, four Israeli gymnasts today (Wednesday) achieved the criteria for the World Instrumental Gymnastics Championships which will be held this fall in Liverpool and will open on October 28.
Olympic champion Artium Dolgofyat finished with the highest overall rating in his most powerful device on the ground, after winning three gold medals (in Qatar, Baku and Cairo) and sixth place in the German Kubbus, for which he also won a cash prize of 5,000 Swiss francs.
According to the scoring method, a gold medal in a round gives 30 points, silver 25, bronze 20 and so on.
Another who finished in first place and won the cash bonus and of course a ticket to the World Championships, is Alex Miakinin, a bronze medalist from the European Championships in Tension, who premiered in this device after winning the gold in Doha and twice the bronze (in Cairo and Cottbus).
Andrei Medvedev, a bronze medalist from the World Jumping Championships, who is celebrating his 32nd birthday today, finished the round on Tuesday and will also board the flight to Liverpool, along with the only women's representative, Ofir Netzer, who finished fifth in the jumps, thanks to the silver medal she won in Germany.
