The St. Wolfgang wrestlers have managed to get back into the tournament phase after a two-year Corona break.

At the Bavarian Championships (BM) in Burgebrach in central Franconia, which were held there in freestyle in all age groups, TSV won three medals.

Lukas Rimpfl and newcomer Anna-Katharina Fürstenau won the title and Milad Karimi was runner-up.

St. Wolfgang

- On both days of the tournament, all clubs and their fighters felt a great desire for a new start, which was reflected in more than 200 active players per day.

Association President Florian Geiger stated with satisfaction: "The wrestlers are back."

This also applies to the St. Wolfgang fighters, where B-Junior Lukas Rimpfl repeated his championship from 2020 in the weight class up to 41 kilograms.

In four fights he prevailed against all his opponents and only had to survive a critical phase against Sebastian Gröbner from Trostberg.

After an unsuccessful start, Rimpfl was trailing by eight points, but was then still successful 12:10.

It was easier for TSV newcomer Fürstenau, who was the only starter in the female youth up to 66 kg and thus became the title holder without a fight.

Milad Karimi's silver medal in the A youth category up to 65 kg was anything but a gift.

After four encounters with full points, the St. Wolfganger was determined as a finalist.

In the battle for gold, he lost to last year's German champion, Luis Wurmser from TSV Westendorf, but silver was the deserved reward for a strong tournament.

The day before, the young Taufkirchner had also competed in the juniors with the same weight as the youngest year and ended up fourth.

One place behind was Tawfiq Noori, who also had good fights.

In addition, Severin Attenberger (B youth, 48 kg) and Mori Dawoodi (men, 74 kg) placed sixth in the points.

On the other hand, there was nothing to get for the St. Wolfgang C-juveniles Maxi List, Vitus Eisenbarth and Florian Knaus at their BM debut.

But as early as next weekend, everyone will have the opportunity to do better at the Greek-Roman Championships in Regensburg.
