Jackson has played the position of coordinator and has served for the past eight years as a commentator on ESPN.
In his resume three seasons as a head coach in the NBA, when he coached Golden State from 2011 to 2014 and led her to two playoff appearances.
At the end of the 2013/14 season Jackson was fired and replaced by Steve Kerr, who swept the Warriors to five straight appearances in the NBA Finals.
Despite the rumors, only yesterday did James make it clear that he is not involved in the decision as to the identity of the man who will replace Frank Vogel on the lines, who was sacked after 3 seasons in office.
Vogel led the Lakers to the thousands in 2020 but last season was particularly disappointing, with a 49:33 balance and off-play, and the coach paid the price.
General manager Rob Plinka said the search for a new coach would be long and in-depth.
Meanwhile, one of the stars of the disappointing 21/22 team, Russell Westbrook, was interviewed in the United States and blamed outgoing coach Vogel.
"I'm so sorry about what happened between us. Until now I've never had a problem with a coach. I did not understand what his problem was with me, but we could not connect," said Westbrook, adding: "From the first moment I arrived I did not get a real chance to show who I am and what I can Contribute to the group.
