The gesture of Artem Severiukhin, a 15-year-old Russian karting driver strongly suspected of having given a Nazi salute on a Portimão last weekend, caused an outcry in the world of motorsport.
The International Automobile Federation immediately opened an investigation into the conduct deemed "
unacceptable
" by the driver, released by his team, Ward Racing.
The Automobile Club of Italy, for its part, convened an extraordinary meeting to examine the case of the Russian who drives under an Italian license.
At the end of this meeting, the ACI indicated that Severiukhin's license had been revoked, while qualifying the behavior of the teenager
as "unspeakable and unacceptable
".
Transalpine officials specified that Severiukhin, who sadly distinguished himself after winning the round of the European Karting Championship in Portugal, was referred to sports justice "
so that it assesses the definition of other sanctions which fall under of its own sphere of competence.
