Freddie Rincon, a former Real Madrid player and captain of the Colombian national team, fought for his life after being involved in a serious car accident in the city of Cali.
According to the harsh report, Rincon was driving a car with four other people and collided with a bus.
Everyone was of course injured, though to varying degrees.
"Freddie Rincon came here with a traumatic brain injury," said the hospital where he is hospitalized.

Rincon, now 55, has scored 18 goals in the Colombia national team uniform, appearing with her in three World Cups.
Along with Carlos Valderrama, he holds the record for World Cup appearances for his country (10 games).
Aside from his time at Blancos, Rincon has also played for Napoli, Palmeiras, Santos and Corinthians.
