This is good news.
Dutch coach Louis van Gaal, affected by prostate cancer, reassured on Monday about his state of health.
“I underwent 25 radiotherapy sessions.
Then I had to wait five or six months to see if it worked.
It was,” he confirmed to Dutch news agency ANP.
The technician, at the head of the national team since last August, added that his operation and these sessions were "behind him".
Last week, after the announcement of his illness – which his players were not aware of – he explained that he had undergone irradiation, including in the evening during the Oranje training camps.
Following this revelation, the world of football was moved by the announcement of the illness of the former coach of Manchester United, FC Barcelona or Bayern Munich.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to our former coach," FC Barcelona said on Twitter.
“I never thought it would have had such an impact in the world.
I find that incredible.
I get emotional about it, I have tears in my eyes but it also gives me energy that so many people care about me,” admitted Louis van Gaal.

Despite his illness, the technician will be well on the bench of the Dutch selection for the World Cup in Qatar, from November 21 to December 18, 2022. The Netherlands will face in the group stage Qatar, host country, Senegal and the 'Ecuador.
Following the competition, the coach will leave his place to Ronald Koeman, who will return to the position after having occupied it from 2018 to 2020.
