The Russian Boxing Federation has filed two lawsuits with the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the decisions of the International Boxing Federation (IBF).
Russia Today website quoted the press office of the Russian Boxing Federation as saying in a statement that "the Russian Boxing Federation has filed two lawsuits before the First Court of Arbitration for Sport related to protecting the honor and dignity of Russian boxers, and in the second lawsuit, in which it objects to the ban on holding international competitions in the country."
The statement indicated that the Russian Boxing Federation will be defended by a lawyer from Spain after the cases were accepted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The International Boxing Association announced last March that Russian athletes would be banned from participating in international tournaments under the auspices of the organization.
