Total cost of over £ 200 million: Manchester United announced today (Thursday) that Old Trafford will soon undergo a refurbishment that will include a comprehensive expansion and renovation of the stadium.
In fact, the decision to renovate the existing stadium rather than build a new one stems from the club's desire to preserve the Old Trafford heritage, which was established in 1910 and already one extension in 2006.
The companies selected to be in charge of the project are Legends International and Polopoulos, who have been involved in building Tottenham's new stadium, renovating Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu and other stadiums around the world.

The club's announcement reads: "Manchester United have appointed a team of top consultants to begin work on creating a master plan for Old Trafford's redevelopment. The project will be led by 'Gends International' and 'Polopoulos', both of whom have extensive experience in developing stadiums from around the world. "Fans will be at the heart of the process, starting with a meeting between the advisers and the Manchester United Fans Advisory Council later this month. A similar process is already underway with the club's training facilities, with a master plan for an expanded and advanced facility for men, women and academia."
