Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - "Every morning when I wake up, I hope that I will be spared further disaster reports," says the Wolfratshausen sports official Alfred Barth.
As chairman of the Raiffeisen-Oberland-Challenge (ROC), he wants to try to get the competition series up and running again after a two-year break.
As is well known, last year there was only one “ROC light”.
However, TSV Schäftlarn has broken away from the regular organizers: "The usual forest run there along the Isar will no longer exist." Thus the start of the "ROC 22" is planned on April 30th with the city run in Geretsried.
G7 summit affects city run
Things are also looking good for the Sixtus run in Schliersee, which will be held on May 21st.
"The Wolfratshauser Stadtlauf, which was originally planned for July 3rd, will not be able to take place like this," reports Barth.
The main cause is the G7 summit, which is taking place at the same time at Schloss Elmau near Krün and for which all police forces in the Oberland are being brought together.
"That's why the police can't take over the security on our original date," reports the Wolfratshauser.
July 10th is currently favored as a possible alternative date.
"Even if it's not 100 percent certain yet, it's looking pretty good."
Three runs accumulate in July
As a result, three ROC races would be concentrated in July, because the Tölzer Blomberg race was also postponed from June to July 17 this time due to the late Pentecost holidays.
And then there's the Hohenburger Schlosslauf run by the Lenggrieser ski club on July 23rd.
The running autumn should then be heralded with the Gaißacher Berglauf on September 3rd.
SC Moosham is ready with its cross-country run on September 24th and the Holzkirchner market run is scheduled to conclude on October 30th.
Overall award ceremony is planned again
An award ceremony for the overall ROC ranking is also planned for this year.
Time and place are yet to be announced.
"All the approval procedures are going with positive signals and so we hope that everything can take place like this," says Barth optimistically.
Of course, Corona is also showing its effects here: "After the long break, new faces are appearing in many different places among the organizers, who first have to familiarize themselves with the matter." In any case, the runners can now register for the 2022 series on the Internet The first 60 runners will receive a high-quality ROC shirt as a reward.
