Russian Football Federation Development Director Maxim Mitrofanov said that FIFA has suspended payments to Russia related to its hosting of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Russian media quoted Mitrofanov as saying today: “We must receive from FIFA an amount of 100 million dollars, the Russian Federation has already received 30% of the total amount, and the rest of the payments have been suspended by FIFA, but they have not been canceled.”

Russia hosted the FIFA World Cup for the first time in its history between June 14 and July 15, 2018, and the Russian team reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup, while France won the title after defeating its Croatian counterpart in the final match by four goals to two goals.
