Munich/Leipzig – For RB Leipzig* the double is in this season.

It is a prospect that only FC Bayern Munich usually has in football Germany.

Or also Borussia Dortmund*.

The Saxons are in the semi-finals of the Europa League as well as in the semi-finals of the DFB Cup, in which they meet Union Berlin tonight (from 8.45 p.m.).

If RBL wins against the capital city, the club would be in the final of the DFB Cup * for the third time in the past four years.

Last year there was a sensitive 1: 4 against BVB, in 2019 the Leipzig lost the final against the German Bundesliga record champions * 0: 3.

In the past few weeks, the players, above all midfield strategist Kevin Kampl, have confirmed that the time has finally come this season with the first cup triumph in the club's history.

RB Leipzig – Union Berlin in the live ticker: transfer rumors about Nkunku and Laimer

It is precisely in this mixed situation that FC Bayern's alleged courtship for Konrad Laimer and in particular for goalgetter Christopher Nkunku caused a stir.

RBL coach Domenico Tedesco reacted "absolutely relaxed" to the transfer rumors about his two top performers at the press conference for the Union game.

"It's part of it, it's not just about us.

Rumors are simply part of it, that goes without saying, especially when we're successful.

Then there are stories like that," said the 36-year-old coach: "It's more of a positive thing, but that affects us in no time."

As the

MDR

reports, the bosses are working feverishly to extend the contract with Nkunku, which runs until the summer of 2024, ahead of schedule.

The 24-year-old Frenchman should definitely be kept, the report says.

At the same time, the football

portal fcbinside

reported that Leipzig had even said that Nkunku and Laimer were banned from switching to Bayern Munich.

Nkunku has scored ten goals in his outstanding second half of the Bundesliga season and prepared eight more goals.

He also scored both goals in RB Leipzig's 2-0 quarter-final second leg at Atalanta Bergamo.
