Lewis Hamilton: "Yes, I want to buy Chelsea"

Chelsea are up for sale after tough sanctions against oligarch Roman Abramovich.
Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton has expressed interest.
Imola - Many were amazed when Lewis Hamilton confirmed his interest in taking over Chelsea FC at the press conference before the Formula 1 race in Imola: "Yes, I want to buy Chelsea FC." The Briton wants to join a consortium participate, which wants to take over the English top club.
The consortium is led by Sir Martin Broughton, a British businessman who briefly ran Liverpool FC and is currently on the board of British Airways.
None other than tennis legend Serena Williams also wants to join the group.

"I've been a football fan since I was a kid.
When I heard about this opportunity, I thought: 'Wow, this is a great opportunity.'” Strangely, Hamilton was previously considered a fan of London rivals Arsenal.
However, his sister used to force him to do it.
"My uncle was a big Chelsea fan."
Lewis Hamilton has a second passion besides racing: football.

Coach Thomas Tuchel's team has been playing with a special license to keep the game going for a few weeks.
This expires on May 31, by which time a decision to sell must be made.

Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams want to participate in Chelsea takeover
The Broughton consortium around the sports stars Hamilton and Williams are given a good chance of making the top club their own.
However, there are two other groups vying for Chelsea - led by Americans Todd Boehly (co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers) and Stephen Pagliuca (co-owner of Atalanta Bergamo).
The sale of Chelsea FC is handled by the US bank Raine.
Should Hamilton, Williams and Co. emerge victorious, they want to fundamentally transform the club and bring Chelsea's ailing finances into shape.
