Olympique Lyon won the semi-final first leg of the women's Champions League against their French rivals Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 (2-1).
This put them in a good starting position for the second leg in Paris on Saturday.
Paris took the lead early on through Marie-Antoinette Katoto (6th minute) – the goal was preceded by an assist from DFB international Sara Däbritz.
Wendie Renard, who has become the first player to make 100 appearances in the competition since that game, converted a penalty to make it 1-1.
Lyon then benefited from two blatant mistakes by PSG goalkeeper Barbora Votikova, who first played a goal-kick directly in front of Ada Hegerberg's feet, which Catarina Macario put on to make it 2-1 (33rd).
At the start of the second half, Votikova found herself at odds with her defenders.
It was Macario again (50th) who took advantage of the confusion and pushed in to make it 3-1.
Lyon wants the eighth title - and could meet the top favorites
Paulina Dudek's goal from the penalty spot to make it 3-2 could still be important when the second leg takes place in Paris on Saturday (9 p.m., TV: DAZN).
For Lyon it would be the eighth success in the premier class.
Before FC Barcelona celebrated their first Champions League victory last year, Lyon had won the tournament five times in a row from 2016 to 2020.
In the other semi-final, VfL Wolfsburg suffered a 5-1 defeat at top favorite Barcelona on Friday.
The second leg will also take place next Saturday in the VW Arena in Wolfsburg (6 p.m., TV: DAZN).
