Russian Andrei Rublev won the Belgrade Tennis Championships, after defeating Serbian Novak Djokovic, the world number one, in the final.
Rublev, ranked eighth in the world, managed to settle the final for himself and beat Djokovic in front of his fans in two sets to one set 6-2, 6-7, 6-0 in two hours and 27 minutes.
By winning this tournament, the total prize money of which is about half a million euros, Rublev achieved his third title in 2022 after the Dubai and Marseille championships, and the 11th during his professional career in the singles category. On the other hand, Djokovic failed to win his first title in 2022.
