What is a panenka again?
This word tells you something, but... but if!
Zinedine Zidane and his penalty against Italy, in the final of the 2006 World Cup. The "panenka", this subtle technical gesture which consists of taking a penalty with finesse with a small ball dipped in the center of the goal in the hope that the goalkeeper threw himself on one side, was brought up to date by Karim Benzema on Tuesday evening during the crazy match between Manchester City and Real Madrid, in the semi-final first leg of the Champions League.
While the English lead 4-2 and Real, however combative, finally seems knocked out, Citizens defender Aymeric Laporte commits a handball in his own area and concedes a penalty.
Real Madrid's best player and possible future Ballon d'Or, Karim Benzema, then comes forward to shoot him and gratifies us with this gesture both full of technique and composure.

Ederson bit the feint and Real Madrid came back to 4-3.
A score that will be final, and that allows the Merengue to always dream of qualifying.
Return match Wednesday evening, at Santiago Bernabeu.
We are already looking forward to it.
