Arrival of the fifth:
8 - 3 - 12 - 7 - 1
The racecourse of Compiègne (Oise) was the scene of the quinté of the day reserved for jumpers.
This test brought together fifteen hurdlers, all 4 years old, after the withdrawal of
Infante de Somoza
(n°15), on the 3,600m course.
Bought to claim for the sum of 19,000 euros after his third place on March 31 obtained on this same track,
Le Garlaban
(n° 8) did not miss its debut at this category, winning in a pleasant way.
The 4-year-old gelding waited patiently during the course.
He came into the straight very easily and produced excellent acceleration.
He left very well on the flat and was not worried, to the delight of his trainer David Windrif: “He is a horse that I really like.
We bought him last because he wasn't ridden very well that day, taking the lead way too early.
Nicolas Gauffenic used it very well today.
It is surely better on good ground.
I think it will be able to go on the steeplechase without problem and I am delighted with this purchase.

Remaining on a series of good outings,
Iban Roque
(n°3) once again behaved remarkably for his first steps on this track.
Quickly in a good place, he made a very good effort and was pugnacious to take a clear second place.
The favourite,
Idéal du Chênet
(No. 12), need not be ashamed of his third place, especially since he made a mistake in the line opposite.
Waiting in seventh or eighth position, he finished well.
Finishing fourth,
Iratzederrea
(n°7) confirmed his good debut at this level on 27 March.
She gradually came to the front and showed courage to finish.
As for
Flash Davier
(No. 1), mounted in a more offensive way this time, she behaved well but could not do anything against the first four and settled for fifth place.
