Unfortunately for him, the Frenchman, 72nd in the world, had to give up a few minutes later, seeming to have injured his hand on this action.
The score was 6-2, 2-6, 4-1 in favor of the Chilean when the 21-year-old Frenchman left the court, midway through his service game, unable to continue.
