The Eisbären Berlin complete the playoff final of the German Ice Hockey League.

The final of the German Ice Hockey League is complete!

After the EHC Red Bull Munich, the Eisbären Berlin will also move into the final of the DEL playoffs 2022 on Thursday evening (April 28).

The reigning champion prevailed against the Adler Mannheim after an exciting series.

The Eisbären won the all-important fifth semi-final duel against the Adler in front of their home crowd 2-0 (0-0, 1-0, 1-0).

Berlin and Munich were the two best DEL teams in the main round.

Eisbären Berlin and Adler Mannheim deliver a thrilling semi-final series

The series between Eisbären Berlin and Adler Mannheim has electrified ice hockey fans in Germany for days.

The Berliners had awarded the first two match pucks.

After the 2-0 series deficit, the Eagles started to catch up, which ultimately culminated in Coach Bill Stewart's team forcing the fifth game.

The Mannheimers only parted ways with coach Pavel Gross shortly before the end of the main round.

Stewart's contract with the Eagles is initially only valid until the end of the season.

The 64-year-old is supported by the two club legends Marcel Goc and Jochen Hecht.

Who will coach the Adler Mannheim in the coming season is still open.
