Pellegrini favors Roma
The Roma captain didn't play well, but he was decisive when the time was right.
Like his team, Pellegrini mainly defended in this first leg semi-final, but he allowed his team to leave England with a draw (1-1).
The Giallorossi midfielder perfectly concluded a counter launched by Zalewski on the left by deceiving Schmeichel with a shot from the left between the legs (15th).
Roma are de facto in a good position going into the second leg on Thursday May 5 at the Stadio Olimpico.
Lookman as Leicester savior
The Foxes have long been frustrated with a well-established Roma side.
They indeed encountered difficulties in developing their game and only Lookman managed to worry the opposing defense among the eleven holders.
In the first half, the former Everton player tested Rui Patricio with a shot wrapped from the right which surprised the Portuguese goalkeeper, forced to push back in two stages.
Then in the second half, Lookman was on the receiving end of a cross from Barnes and cut the trajectory of the ball in front of Ibanek to allow Leicester to snatch the draw (66th).

Smalling boss size
The former Manchester United has not missed his return to English soil.
He was imperial on the lawn of the King Power Stadium and evolved into a real boss of the Italian defense.
Chris Smalling made 8 clearances and won 4 out of 6 duels played, annihilating many English opportunities by cutting off many crosses.
He made an excellent comeback on Lookman in the area who was going to arm his strike in the 29th minute.
A match full of mastery for the former Red Devil who showed the way to his people and fits perfectly with the Mourinho style.
FLOPS
Maddison uninspired
The Foxes playmaker was too uninspired.
Too slow in his decision-making and in his transmissions, the English international did not know how to breathe the right tempo and guide his teammates.
He touched 82 balls but was unable to be decisive near the surface.
He sends two strikes from the left above the goal of Rui Patricio (31st and 39th).
He was no sharper on a set piece with a very well placed free kick from 20 meters sent directly into the wall.
A fairly neutral match for James Maddison and the game of his team suffers.
Albrighton goes through
Marc Albrighton was transparent against the Romans this Thursday evening.
Aligned on the right wing, the Englishman was the least visible to his attacking partners.
He only touched 48 balls on which he lost 18. He only won 3 out of 8 duels and did not know how to bring danger to the opposing camp.
It was very well blocked by Zalewski and Ibanez.
Albrighton was logically replaced by Perez in the 62nd minute.
Ghostly Zaniolo
The attacking midfielder missed out on this first leg semi-final.
The Italian was not successful and was much too discreet on the lawn of King Power Stadium.
He was almost never found by his partners and touched too few balls to have an impact on the game of his team.
He is cautioned for a gross foul on Justin.
He badly negotiates a counter-attack ball by giving his ball much too late to Abraham in the 65th minute.
