FC Bayern can probably remove the next central defender from the list of candidates.
DFB star Matthias Ginter is about to move to Freiburg.
Munich/Freiburg – FC Bayern is gradually running out of options on the transfer market for a new central defender.
After the transfer of Niklas Süle from Munich to Borussia Dortmund, which has been in place for some time, Nico Schlotterbeck from Freiburg will also move to BVB next summer.
The gap in Breisgau is to be filled by an old acquaintance, Matthias Ginter from Gladbach.
For Bayern this means: Three German internationals and central defenders would be off the market in one fell swoop.

FC Bayern: Next central defender from the market - Ginter before moving to SC Freiburg
According to media reports, Matthias Ginter is moving from Borussia Mönchengladbach to his old hometown of SC Freiburg.
According to Sport1
, the German national player should
travel to Breisgau and complete the medical check after the Gladbach Bundesliga game against RB Leipzig on Monday evening.
The 1.91 meter tall defender could then sign a long-term contract later this week and move on a free transfer in the summer.
The return of Ginter, who became a professional in Freiburg and came to Gladbach in 2017 via the detour of Borussia Dortmund, would definitely be surprising in his home country.
The 28-year-old is said to have been on the list of several top international clubs, with Aston Villa from the Premier League apparently in the running until the very end.
FC Bayern Munich and Inter Milan were also said to be interested in Ginter.
In Freiburg, which will be represented internationally next season, the national player apparently wants to increase his chances in the DFB jersey for the 2022 World Cup.
FC Bayern: Ginter was an alternative for central defense
For FC Bayern, the search for a new central defender and successor to Niklas Süle, who will move to BVB, seems to be turning into a fiasco on the transfer market.
Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rüdiger have other plans than moving to Munich.
With Nico Schlotterbeck, a young, talented central defender recently decided to join BVB.

The bosses around Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn shouldn't be too annoyed about a missed Ginter transfer.
Matthias Ginter is said to have been an issue internally at Bayern, but there were no concrete negotiations with the players.
In addition, Ginter was apparently not considered a "1A" solution in the club.
Rather, an internal solution is being discussed as a replacement for Süle.
