The Tanz in den Mai in Wartenberg was a brilliant show dance festival at Dance United: the group "FunkYllusion" enchanted again, the "Elite Stars" from Zustorf surprised - in the most positive sense.
Wartenberg
- It was announced as "Dance into May", but basically it was a program premiere and a youth show dance festival: Two groups from the immediate vicinity, who are involved in the second Bundesliga, formed the sporting peak on Saturday.
The "FunkYllusion" by the hosts Dance United and the "Elite Stars" of the Starlights from Zustorf, which were founded just a year ago.
Finally there was a full Strogenhalle again, said Mayor Christian Pröbst happily at the welcome.
There were two separate events, between which the board had put a longer break, also for airing.
The competition group of the hosts has already secured its place in the athletes' award: it is the reigning Bavarian runner-up.
But what the dancers performed in front of the enthusiastic guests made it clear why that is so: “FunkYllusion” competes in the “Modern” category.
It was a fast-paced show, totally in sync.
This is competitive sport, that was visible.
Where the young ladies of "FunkYllusion" are, the "Elite Stars" still want to go.
Moderator Thorsten Drews underlined that they have what it takes when he reported that they had already received the points for a start in the second Bundesliga.
Trainer Julia Reiter comes from the host club and led the nine girls there, still in the open class as a "small group", but soon actually in regular competitions.
The faces of the dancers from all groups on the stage made it clear how happy they were to be there again.
For several groups it was the first performance after two years.
Dance United was able to pick up almost seamlessly from the times before Corona.
The hall was well filled twice.
The guests could experience that not only the hosts have gained power despite the pandemic.
Of course everything was headed towards the performance of the main group of "Dance United", but it is also part of the tradition that the commitment of the trainers is recognized in public here.
That was important, especially after the two hard years that lie behind all show dancers.
So it was almost touching to see how the girls wanted to hug "their" trainers on stage.
Chairman Hans Brückl made an all-round happy face, but also looked at his watch: the main group was in a way ready to go: They had been invited to Ulm for the first time.
The bus was already ordered.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.)
