An impressive achievement for the Israeli fencer (21), who took first place in the competition in Tallinn, after an 8:15 victory in the final over a rival from Hungary

In recent years, fencer Der Hecht is mentioned as the next thing in Israeli fencing, as one who is scheduled to attend the Olympic Games in Paris and here tonight (Saturday) she continues to prove her abilities, when she won the European Under-23 Championship held in Tallinn, Estonia.

The 21-year-old Hecht, the apprentice of Doron Levitt, won a gold medal in the stabbing model, after beating the Hungarian Reika Galpai in the final, 8:15, already in the first third of the fight.

On the day of the long competition, the Israeli did not have a hard time passing the home stage without difficulty from rivals Hungary, Switzerland, Sweden, Britain and Lithuania, with the overall balance, ranking her in first place and therefore enjoying it, as she rose directly to the last 32 stage.

In the first knockout battle, Hecht met her teammate Eva Galp and at the end of a close battle she won 13:15, in the top 16 she overtook Lara Goldman of Germany with 10:15, to meet the last eight of the French soloists and pass her with 13:15.

In the semifinals she defeated Alexandra Boza of Italy with 14:15.

By the way, Hecht is also scheduled to fly in a little over a month to the World Championships for graduates in Cairo, but at the moment the delegation's departure is in doubt due to security issues that have not yet been resolved.
