His old club, his new club, his late agent: the media had many questions for Erling Haaland. The City striker's responses were brief. He did not comment at all on donors from Abu Dhabi.

Before Erling Haaland wants to start at his new employer Manchester City, the striker is still in demand in the Nations League.

At his first public appearance since his move was announced, the 21-year-old also commented on the past few weeks.

"It was a tough few months, it wasn't easy," Haaland said at a press conference for the Norwegian national football team in Oslo.

The death of his advisor Mino Raiola also hit him hard, "it was very difficult, I don't want to talk about it," he said.

Basically, however, he "can't complain, I like my life," said Haaland: "I don't want to praise myself, but I'm good at concentrating on the essentials and performing."

Haaland did not want to talk about his future club, which has not yet publicly presented the new attacking star, out of "respect" for City, as national coach Ståle Solbakken explained.

He also left unanswered the question of whether his move to a club sponsored by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi was part of the much-criticized »sportswashing«.

He wanted to "gladly" talk about what the journalists present were probably only marginally interested in: the Nations League and Norway's games against Serbia, Sweden and Slovenia in June.

He is injury-free, very motivated and is "tremendously happy," said Haaland.
