After a failed season concluded by relegation to N2, the Val-de-Marnais club and Emmanuel Da Costa ended their collaboration. This of

It is therefore the year of all the changes in Créteil.

Change of president, division and as it often goes hand in hand, of coach as well.

While waiting to see Armand Lopes, at the head of the club for 20 years, cede his chair as president to entrepreneur Bassam Al Homsi, Créteil-Lusitanos formalized the arrival of a new coach on Monday.

A week after the departure of Emmanuel Da Costa, whose contract was not renewed following the relegation of the USCL to National 2, the reins of the team were entrusted to Stéphane Masala, the former coach of Herbaria (N2).

Trained at Estac, this former amateur midfielder achieved the performance of having led Les Herbiers to the Coupe de France final in 2018. A historic journey for the resident of N2 which ended in defeat more than honorable against PSG (2-0), on goals from Giovanni Lo Celso and Edinson Cavani.

In four seasons at the helm of Les Herbiers, however, he failed to bring the Vendée club up to the National level.

A challenge he will try to take up with the Val-de-Marnais club, with whom he has signed up for two seasons plus one as an option in the event of a climb.

“US Créteil-Lusitanos cannot be refused, Créteil is a big club with one of the most important associations in France, explained the new coach, 47, in a press release published on the USCL website.

It's a club that has known the professional world, so the challenge is to look higher, by building a team capable of offering great football to Duvauchelle.

Today I feel proud, full of energy because we have a lot of work to do with a technical staff to reconstitute, a group of players to train and a preparation for the season to plan.

We are focused on this new work.

The goal is to succeed together,

work to offer great football to Duvauchelle.

And then if we work well, why not get a climb?
