The footballers of SVA Palzing remain in the district league.

After the 2:2 in the relegation second leg in Vaterstetten, they turned night into day.

Palzing

– The footballers of SVA Palzing have done it: after winning the relegation against SC Baldham-Vaterstetten, they will also play in the regional league in the coming season.

During the winter break, there were still many indications that the Ampertaler team would be relegated - all the greater was the joy after the successful season finale with the 2-0 home win at the start of the relegation and the 2-2 draw in the second leg.

"Staying up in the league is very important for me in sporting terms," said SVA coach Sepp Summerer.

“The tension has gone.

My head was empty.” After the final whistle at the Sports Center in Vaterstetten, he first had to process what had happened.

The way he strolled across the lawn reminded a bit of Franz Beckenbauer after winning the 1990 World Cup in Rome.

Fabian Radlmaier: "With the 1-1, a lot of pressure was off."

Summerer's players went straight into celebration mode.

They did the diver, the wave and started singing in front of their fans.

"Playing in front of so many people was special," said defender Thomas Kaindl (30).

Captain Marcel Radlmaier, the stabilizer of the Palzinger game for Summerer, was impressed: "You could hear the cheers on the field.

That was different from a normal league game.”

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

In the second leg in Vaterstetten things got really loud for the first time when Fabian Radlmaier scored the 1-1 in the 59th minute.

Thanks to the away goals rule, the goal was a huge step towards staying up.

"After the 0-1 it was Baldham's turn again.

That was a strange feeling.

With the 1-1, a lot of pressure dropped,” said goal scorer Radlmaier.

The 24-year-old left foot was the decisive player for Palzinger.

“Fabi played a top second half of the season.

That was very important for us," said Marcel Radlmaier (29) about his brother.

For Summerer it was the last appearance as Palzing coach

The Ampertaler were in last place in the winter, but they turned up the heat after the winter break.

"At some point we felt that everything was going well for us," emphasized Captain Radlmaier.

“A lot of people wrote us off, but we made it.

Also for Sepp,” added defender Kaindl.

For coach Summerer it was the last appearance as a Palzing coach.

He will be replaced by Gianluca Dello Buono, who was also among the well-wishers after the final whistle.

The Palzinger celebrated their triumph in the relegation.

"We had another beer in Vaterstetten, then we went on to the sports club in Palzing," said Summerer.

He said goodbye around 10 p.m.

Some of his players were still on their feet five hours later.
