Pogba will be without a contract

French soccer world champion Paul Pogba will not renew his contract with English record champions Manchester United.

The club announced this on Wednesday and thanked the 29-year-old midfielder for his commitment.

Where Pogba is headed is not yet clear.

Recently there have been rumors of a return to the Italian top club Juventus Turin.

Dutchman Frenkie de Jong from FC Barcelona is under discussion as his successor.

Pogba, who first joined United as a youth player aged 16, moved from Manchester to Turin on a free transfer in 2012.

Four years later, the English paid the then record transfer fee of 105 million euros for the returnee.

Pogba's second spell at Manchester has been marred by injuries.

He played 27 games that season.

In all, he made 233 appearances for United.

Bale says goodbye to Real fans

In a post on social media, Gareth Bale thanked him for his time at Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old winger, who joined Real from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, is out of contract this summer.

In the past season it was only enough for seven short appearances in Madrid.

"I'm writing this message to say thank you to all my former and current team-mates, my managers, the back staff and the fans who have supported me," wrote Bale, who has scored 106 goals in 258 games for Real.

The Welshman was often injured during his time in Spain, but he still won three championships and contributed important goals to five Champions League titles.

Bale had a difficult time with the fans and in the club, and there was often speculation about his departure.

He played on loan for Tottenham in the 2020/2021 season, where he had 13 direct goals in 20 league games.

Bielefeld bring in Swiss defender Sidler

Bundesliga relegated Arminia Bielefeld has signed the first newcomer for the coming season.

The Swiss Silvan Sidler comes from FC Luzern on a free transfer and has signed a contract until 2025.

"He's a flexible full-back who, at 23, still has great potential for development," said Arminia's sporting director, Samir Arabi, about the former U21 international.

Balotelli wants to go back to Italy

Star striker Mario Balotelli has apparently contacted former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to appear again for Serie A promoted Monza Calcio from the new season.

The 85-year-old Berlusconi is the owner of the club, which is taking part in Italy's top flight for the first time.

"I spoke to Berlusconi, I would like to return to Italy," said Balotelli on Tuesday evening at the celebrations for the Serie A promoted team in Monza.

The 31-year-old is currently under contract with the Turkish middle-class team Adana Demirspor.

At club level, Balotelli has previously worked for Manchester City, Liverpool FC, AC and Inter Milan, among others.

RB striker Sörloth wants to stay in Spain

The striker Alexander Sörloth, who was previously loaned to Real Sociedad, would like to leave the Bundesliga soccer club RB Leipzig permanently and stay in Spain.

'I like the club very much, even though I've been here less than a year.

The fans are absolutely fantastic,” the Norway international told TV2.

The club from San Sebastián could have bought the 26-year-old for 16 million euros by April 15, but missed this deadline.

According to the TV2 report, however, only to be able to freely negotiate a fee.

Sörloth should have no future in Leipzig.
