Moosburg

- In the end, the 3-0 relegation success of FVgg Gammelsdorf (we reported) looked like a clear affair for the higher-class team.

But it was only half-time.

Before that, VfR Haag could have made his dream of climbing up the district class come true.

However, the VfR still has the chance to get into the district class via the additional relegation (see sidebar).

Gammelsdorf's coach Tobias Weinzierl had to admit after the game: "Haag was better in the first half and also had two or three very good chances.

But in the last ten minutes before the break, the game tipped our side a bit, even though we didn't have any clear chances then.

The 0-0 at half-time was rather happy for us overall.”

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Volker Lippcke misses a huge opportunity to lead

Haag's player coach Volker Lippcke, who himself missed a huge opportunity to take the lead, was annoyed after the final whistle: "The first half hour was okay, but the final step to the goal was always missing.

From the 35th minute we lost the thread - and the second half was abysmal." Above all, because the opponents did a lot of what was said in the dressing room, and the first chance brought the 1-0 through Michael Hösl ( 49.).

"After conceding a goal, we completely lost our order, nothing worked anymore.

That was perhaps our worst half of the season - and of all things in the relegation game," said VfR coach Lippcke.

He had the only real chance to equalize, but his shot from the edge of the box flew wide of the crossbar.

Party in Gammelsdorfer Sportheim

The district classist had more and better opportunities, and thus earned his place in the league.

FVgg coach Weinzierl was relieved when youngster Erik Hölzl made it 2-0 with a deflected long-range shot (71st).

Michael Hösl made it 3-0 (80th minute) – and a good ten minutes later there was no stopping FVgg players and fans.

Coach Weinzierl was overjoyed: "Now we're going to the clubhouse and celebrating our successful end to the season."
