Number 10, who will start in the Danish ranks this Friday evening, has fully recovered from the heart attack that struck him

It is an authentic miracle who will tread the Stade de France this Friday in the person of Christian Eriksen, 30 years old.

On June 12, the Danish midfielder, victim of a heart attack on the lawn when the first match of the Euro between Denmark and Finland reached half-time, was suspended for long minutes between life and death at the Parken in Copenhagen.

Resuscitated, number 10 had left his comrades, who had lost the initial match (1-0) but had then found the resources to climb to the semi-finals against England (1-2 after extra time).

Less than a year later, Eriksen, now carrying a defibrillator, became a footballer again, and even an international footballer!

"The first miracle happened when they saved my life on the pitch," he said at a press conference on Thursday.

Afterwards, there were discussions with the doctors and examinations at the hospital to get the green light to play football again.

My first goal was to return to a normal life, as a father, companion and member of the family... Then it was time to think about football.

Luckily, the doctors did not detect anything abnormal for my return.

I went through a difficult year but it is a pleasure to be able to play football again.

It's something that was close to my heart, so I'm delighted..."

Six-month contract at Brentford

Dismissed by Inter Milan, in accordance with Italian provisions, the former player of Odense, then Ajax Amsterdam and Tottenham, found a six-month contract in Brentford, in the Premier League (13th), during the truce winter.

Free, he is now announced on the side of Newcastle next season.

On February 26, he replayed in the league, 259 days after his heart attack.

On March 26, he was recalled to the selection against the Netherlands in a friendly (2-4).

And scored in Amsterdam on his comeback… Lined up three days later in front of Serbia in Parken Stadium, the scene of the tragedy, he scored the 3-0 goal!

“He will lead his team to a great match said Thursday Hugo Lloris, his former teammate at Tottenham.

He is a very high-level player,” added the captain of the Blues, wishing him “the best, because he deserves it”.
