Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matitsyn announced that his country will take all necessary measures to protect Russian athletes from discrimination and politicization.
Today, TASS news agency quoted Matitsyn as telling reporters: “The conditions for the development of Russian sport are not easy, today they are under international pressure and under the weight of sanctions, and we are doing everything necessary to analyze and understand the resources of Russian sport and realize new forms of conducting competitions, especially for Russian athletes, and we are open to the participation of foreign athletes.” from friendly countries.
In response to a question about the development of Russian sports under sanctions, he added: Russia is a country with huge resources, self-sufficient and independent of political influences, and we will do everything necessary to protect Russian sports from politicization and discrimination, considering that without Russia, international sports will not be able to develop in the required manner.
