Following the successful tournaments in the country, the women's and men's teams advanced in the 3x3 rankings on the way to the top goal - the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. The men's team that advanced to the European Championships advanced to 15th in the world and 12th in Europe and the women’s team 9th in the world and 7th in Europe.
The women's team will also participate in the World Championships in Antwerp at the end of the month.
The one who made the biggest jump, is the boys team that finished the League of Nations in the country in first place and jumped to the second place in the world, which further improves the ranking of the men's team as well.
Shoham Gat and Tomer Asaig, who have played quite a few international tournaments so far, are ranked 5th and 6th in the world in the individual rankings.
Also the girls' team up to the age of 23 with a high ranking - 4 in the world.
As things stand at the moment, the men's and women's teams can make history and qualify for Paris 2024. The tournament will feature eight men’s teams and eight women, one of whom is the host France.
Three teams of each gender will be invited to the tournament based on their world rankings.
Two more teams will arrive based on their achievements at the World Championships and another three teams will arrive from a qualifying tournament, in which the countries that do not have representation at the Olympic Games in regular basketball will participate.
It turned out that in the games in Tokyo, the men participated in the tournament, including Latvia (which won gold), Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland.
There is no doubt that the Israeli team can handle it.
