The Carmel club have confirmed that negotiations are underway with the Swedish right-back but "there are talks with quite a few candidates" • The Greens are considering trying to add Hatem 'Abd al-Hamid, with Sean Goldberg returning to the left-back position

Maccabi Haifa will try to close the signing of the Swedish right-back, Daniel Sundgren, by the end of the week.

The club have confirmed that the 31-year-old player, who has completed a contract with Aris Thessaloniki, is indeed one of the candidates to come, although they have made it clear that "there are talks with quite a few candidates and the market can change daily".

At the same time, the media in Sweden almost welcome the finished product and claim that the signing is very close.

If Sundgren signs, he will be the second right-back to join after Yinon Eliyahu.

Haifa also wants to strengthen the position of the left defender and on the other hand there is a limited number of foreigners.

Therefore, one of the options that came up was to try to add Hatem 'Abd al-Hamid from Hapoel B'Shlosha and in such a situation, Sean Goldberg could move on to play as a left defender.

In the striker position, the intention is to add two players.

The first is Nikita Rokavica, with whom there are already talks and are awaiting his return from abroad. At the same time, professional director Gal Alberman has put a number of foreign candidates on the table.

Goalkeeper Josh Cohen is expected to sign a two-year contract in the coming days, after all the details between the parties have been agreed.
